Collin McLean (born April 22, 2004 in New Hampshire) is an American film director, screenwriter and cinematographer. He is known for writing and directing short films jointly with his associate director Dominic Cipullo, usually in the 16mm film format. The pairs films can briefly be described as low budget, violent, stylish genre pieces, focusing heavily on eccentric characters and fast paced, chaotic story telling. McLean has cited his largest inspirations as the works of Sam Peckinpah, Duke Mitchell, Nat Hiken, John Waters and others. The vast majority of his writing style has been derived from the work of old Jewish comedians, specifically nightclub, hotel and burlesque acts such as Belle Barth, Pearl Williams, Myron Cohen and many others, as well as film and television starring old Jewish comedians.
