On January 24th, 2009, Lance Corporal Julian Brennan was killed in Afghanistan - becoming the first combat death in Afghanistan during the Obama presidency. Growing up in an anti-war family but nevertheless feeling called to join, Julian wrestled with his decision to enlist.
